What this test is
A Kidney Function Test reports urea, creatinine, electrolytes and the estimated GFR (eGFR) — a single number that summarises kidney filtration. eGFR above 90 is normal; under 60 sustained for three months suggests chronic kidney disease. The test is critical for anyone with diabetes or high blood pressure, since these are the two leading causes of kidney damage in India.
